Housekeeper
About the Role
Villa At West Branch is seeking a Housekeeper to clean and service an assigned portion of the facility including furniture, floors, and equipment. Maintain the assigned area to ensure it is clean, sanitary, safe, orderly, and attractive at all times.
Responsibilities
- Follows daily work routine and cleans assigned areas.
- Assures all housekeeping carts and equipment remain in proper repair and stocks housekeeping cart with all required cleaning agents and supplies.
- Gathers and disposes of trash ensuring plastic liners are in containers at all times.
- Vacuums, dust/wet mops, and sanitizes floors daily.
- Empties trash bins and maintains a clean environment surrounding the dumpster.
- Cleans walls, ceilings, windows, stairwells, hallways, metal fixtures, light fixtures, tops of windows, doorframes, and other high places using a step ladder if necessary.
- Cleans and polishes bathrooms sinks, tubs, mirrors, toilets, walls, and floors.
- Restocks paper, plastic, and soap supplies as needed.
- Hangs draperies, privacy curtains, etc. as necessary.
- Keeps utility room and housekeeping closets in order and sanitized.
- Follows established sanitation and safety standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous institutional Housekeeping experience preferred.
- Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.
Skills
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
Physical Requirements
- Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards.
- Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
