About the role
We are actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Housekeeper to join our Asbury Towers Retirement Community team. Responsibilities
- Performs cleaning, housekeeping, and light maintenance tasks throughout assigned property.
- Picks up trash and empties trash containers.
- Performs light repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.
- Assists with the cleaning and sanitizing of shared facilities and common spaces.
- Washes windows.
- Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.
- Performs limited grounds maintenance such as mowing and trimming lawns and hedges, and cleaning snow from sidewalks.
- Examines property for safety hazards; reports problems to Facilities Manager or other appropriate staff.
- Ensures that cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Modifies scope of cleaning and maintenance based on specified needs of the property (apartments, parking facilities, etc.).
- Performs floor care, including wet/dry mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, waxing/buffing, etc.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass a background check.
- Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward staff, residents, and visitors.
Physical Demands
- Ability to endure prolonged walking, sitting, standing, pulling, bending, and stooping movements.
- Ability to adapt to changes in daily work hours and schedule.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to lift/carry a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to push/pull a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring arm-hand steadiness.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods through the duration of shift(s).
- Ability to squat, climb stairs, reach above shoulders, twist, bend, and kneel repeatedly through the duration of shift(s).
- Ability to hear normal sounds within background noise.
- Ability to speak clearly and make self understood.
- Ability to keep attention on task if routinely interrupted.
- Ability to understand a variety of concepts/approaches.
- Ability to remember tasks/assignments for a full shift.
- Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled shift (overtime) when necessary.
Schedule
Day shift, full-time position available with weekend rotation (every 3rd weekend).
