About the Role

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Housekeeper to join our Dearborn Environmental Services Team. This is a full-time, second-shift position (40 hours per week). The position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining patient and non-patient areas within the hospital. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning procedures in patient and non-patient areas to provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff
• Completes detailed cleaning duties (high dusting, cleaning of blinds, etc.) on a weekly basis or upon discharge/transfer of a patient to obtain high results on quality assurance inspections and patient satisfaction
• Cleans, sanitizes, and deodorizes restrooms to ensure they meet quality expectations
• Removes trash from the areas being cleaned to a central location to facilitate trash removal from the building
• Attends in-service programs, meetings, and completes Net Learning modules as required by the hospital
• Follows applicable safety steps to ensure safety for themselves and their patients, complying with hospital, state, and federal safety standards (e.g., proper safety procedures, reporting safety concerns, using correct lifting techniques)
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the applicable principles of growth and development over the life span of those served
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to read and write
• Ability to do heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

No previous experience required. This is a non-exempt position.
