Park Place, a 154-bed assisted living community in Seattle, WA, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the community, including resident apartments, common areas, offices, and other assigned spaces.
Responsibilities
- Resident Apartment Cleaning
- Clean and sanitize resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living areas, and other assigned spaces.
- Follow established cleaning procedures and schedules to maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment.
- Respect residents' privacy, personal belongings, and living spaces while performing cleaning duties.
- Common Area Cleaning
- Clean and maintain common areas, including lounges, dining areas, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other shared spaces.
- Perform routine spot cleaning and scheduled deep cleaning as needed.
- Help ensure common areas remain clean, orderly, safe, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and team members.
- Vacant Apartment Preparation
- Thoroughly clean and prepare vacant apartments for new residents according to established cleaning checklists and standards.
- Clean and sanitize surfaces, fixtures, appliances, floors, and other areas to ensure apartments are clean and move-in ready.
- Laundry & Linen Support
- Wash, dry, fold, and distribute laundry and linens as assigned.
- Maintain the proper organization, labeling, and storage of linens and housekeeping supplies.
- Report any shortages or concerns regarding linens or laundry supplies to the appropriate supervisor.
- Equipment & Supply Maintenance
- Safely operate and maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor housekeeping supplies and notify the appropriate supervisor when items need to be replenished.
- Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, or other issues promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor or appropriate team member.
- Safety & Infection Control
- Follow all established safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
- Properly use, handle, and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Promptly report spills, hazards, damaged areas, or other conditions that may affect resident or staff safety.
- Additional Duties & Resident Service
- Assist with special cleaning projects, seasonal cleaning, and event preparation as assigned.
- Maintain a courteous, respectful, and professional demeanor when interacting with residents, visitors, vendors, and team members.
- Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Experience & Skills
- Previous housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial experience is preferred, particularly in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a similar setting.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow cleaning procedures, schedules, and safety standards.
- Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally with residents, visitors, and team members.
- Friendly, dependable, and service-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
- Part-time (20-30 hours) position with flexible scheduling; may include weekends, holidays, and coverage for scheduled vacations or absences.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed throughout the assisted living community, including resident apartments, common areas, offices, and other designated spaces.
- May involve exposure to cleaning products, moisture, dust, and sanitation materials. Appropriate PPE will be provided as required.
- Must follow established safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
