As a Housekeeping Associate, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, patients, and staff within our life plan community in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Operations Management (75%)
  • Dust furniture, tables, window ledges, lights, beds, high pipes, and other surfaces.
  • Empty and clean waste cans; replace liners when present.
  • Clean and polish tables, fixtures, furnishings, and woodwork.
  • Clean, wash, and disinfect bathroom sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, and floors; polish chrome bathroom fixtures.
  • Clean windows and mirrors in bathrooms, entrance/exit ways, patio doors, etc.
  • Clean all floors and baseboards by disinfecting, sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, waxing, buffing, etc.
  • Vacuum carpets and carpeted stairways.
  • Clean walls and ceilings by wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, etc.
  • Ensure work areas (cart, car, closet) are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are in proper working order.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of housekeeping and cleaning supplies.
• Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management (10%)
  • Follow established quality assurance, infection control, and universal precaution practices during housekeeping procedures.
  • Report any damage or needed repairs to facilities, supplies, or equipment to the supervisor.
  • Share observations and insights that may improve departmental quality and efficiencies.
  • Attend all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as scheduled or directed.
• Customer Relations and Service Delivery (10%)
  • Listen and respond to resident, patient, and staff needs.
  • Honor resident and patient personal and property rights when performing housekeeping duties.
• Administration and Reporting (5%)
  • Maintain current and accurate records using computers and/or other documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Tenth grade education required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of housekeeping experience preferred; on-the-job training provided.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of care for various floor types and appropriate cleaning materials/equipment preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Working Conditions and Special Requirements

• Sitting: up to 1 hour/day
• Standing: up to 8 hours/day
• Walking: up to 8 hours/day
• Lifting, transferring, pushing or pulling residents/patients or equipment/supplies: up to 50 pounds
• Driving: up to 3 hours/day
• Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled
• Subject to residents/patients with various disease processes
• Subject to falls, burns, odors, and cuts
• May be exposed to infectious waste, disease, and conditions including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses
