About the Role
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for enhancing the overall Resident experience by ensuring all areas of the community are neat, orderly, and welcoming for guests. The attention to detail and cleanliness of the community is paramount in delivering on the level of service Grand Living promises to its residents and their family members. The Housekeeping Assistant is to model The Sterling Touch®—friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner—resulting in a very high level of Resident satisfaction while providing housekeeping services and upkeep of all common areas and resident apartments. This position operates under the general guidance of the Director of Environmental Services in accordance with Community standards, processes, procedures, and philosophies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all areas of the community are neat, orderly, and welcoming for residents and guests.
- Provide housekeeping services and upkeep of common areas and resident apartments.
- Model The Sterling Touch®: friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional service.
- Perform cleaning tasks including scrubbing, scouring surfaces, and working in narrow or confined spaces.
- Stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without sitting for extended periods.
- Lift or carry up to 20 pounds and push or pull carts weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Housekeeping experience (preferred).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to communicate with residents, guests, and employees; comprehend work requests, differentiate linen use and care, read product labels, and understand community communications.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including extending arms overhead, working in confined spaces, and standing or walking for extended periods.
