Housekeeper

Position Summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Leesville is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our Environment of Care (EOC) team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Essential Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hospital in accordance with established procedures.
• Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and disinfect assigned areas.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste according to hospital policies.
• Restock housekeeping supplies and notify the supervisor when inventory is low.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Follow infection prevention and safety guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: One (1) to three (3) years of housekeeping experience in a hospital, behavioral health, nursing home, or healthcare setting preferred. Previous environmental services experience is strongly preferred but not required.
• Preferred Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, effective verbal communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, basic computer knowledge, commitment to providing exceptional customer service, ability to maintain confidentiality in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements, including bending, reaching, stooping, and twisting.
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals while following safety procedures.

Working Environment

This position is located within an inpatient behavioral health hospital. Employees may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, moderate noise levels, and patients experiencing behavioral health crises. Freedom Behavioral Hospital is a smoke-free workplace.
