About the role
The Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the Hospital's cleanliness, safety, and comfort for patients, visitors, and staff. This position integrates the hospital’s core values into daily practices.
Responsibilities
- Cleans all patient rooms and ancillary areas using Hospital-approved processes and procedures.
- Cleans patient rooms immediately after discharge.
- Vacuums and cleans upholstered furniture and carpeted areas.
- Replaces soiled window draperies, moves furniture, and other equipment as directed.
- Spot cleans and washes walls, cleans light fixtures, vents, and other apertures, and cleans window frames, door frames, televisions, and other high-dusting areas using ladders when necessary.
- Cleans floors by stripping, waxing, and buffing as needed.
- Collects soiled linen from all patient areas and distributes clean linen and hospital gowns back to the appropriate units.
- Assists in maintaining floors by proper cleaning techniques.
- Collects waste from all areas of the hospital, sanitizes garbage cans, and properly disposes of waste and bio-waste if necessary.
- Strictly adheres to hospital policies and procedures regarding the use of hazardous materials and exposure to body substances, utilizing and wearing required protective equipment and/or clothing.
- Takes daily inventory of supplies and cleans and inspects equipment for any repairs or replacements. Notifies administration of equipment repairs.
- Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
- Completes required trainings, as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- 1 year experience in hospital or skilled nursing facility preferred.

- Knowledgeable of appropriate healthcare environmental services procedures.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization.
Skills
- Physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to hear overhead pages.

Pay
$18.00 per hour with shift differential of $2.00 on weekends.
Schedule
Thursday through Monday (Tuesday & Wednesday off) with a shift differential on weekends.
