Housekeeper
About the role
The Housekeeper plays a crucial role in providing outstanding patient care and high-level customer service in the Hospice House(s). They ensure these facilities are clean and sanitary by properly cleaning and sanitizing rooms, common areas, bathrooms, offices, and other spaces.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Company professionally at all times through care delivered and/or services provided to all clients.
- Comply with all State, federal and local government regulations, maintaining a strong position against fraud and abuse.
- Comply with Company policies, procedures and standard practices.

- Maintain the confidentiality of patients, families, colleagues and other sensitive situations within the Company.

- Improve own professional knowledge and skill level.
- Advance electronic media skills.
- Support Company research and educational activities.
- Share expertise with co-workers both formally and informally.
- Participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement activities as appropriate for the position.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior related experience in hospital, hospice house, nursing home, and/or general cleaning experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of housekeeping industry standards and regulations.
- Technical proficiencies in housekeeping functions.
- Skill in the use of and care for housekeeping equipment including, but not limited to, vacuum, dusters, chemical pumps, etc.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language conversationally.
- Intermittent Driver - Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per Company policy.
- Ability to travel to other locations.
- Ability to keep simple records and to follow simple step-by-step instructions.
- Ability working with detergents and other cleaning chemicals used for custodial work without adverse reactions.
- Constantly lift, pull, carry, and/or push objects weighing up to 55 pounds.
- Stand, kneel, walk, climb, crouch or bend for long periods of time.
- When assigned to the dietary role: Skill in the use of and care for dietary equipment including, but not limited to, convection oven, steam kettle, large mixer, robot coupe, blenders, dish machine, etc.
