Housekeeper

About the role

The Housekeeper plays a crucial role in providing outstanding patient care and high-level customer service in the Hospice House(s). They ensure these facilities are clean and sanitary by properly cleaning and sanitizing rooms, common areas, bathrooms, offices, and other spaces.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Company professionally at all times through care delivered and/or services provided to all clients.
• Comply with all State, federal and local government regulations, maintaining a strong position against fraud and abuse.
• Comply with Company policies, procedures and standard practices.
• Observe the Company's health, safety and security practices.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patients, families, colleagues and other sensitive situations within the Company.

• Promote the Company through participation in community and professional organizations.
• Participate proactively in improving performance at the organizational, departmental and individual levels.
• Improve own professional knowledge and skill level.
• Advance electronic media skills.
• Support Company research and educational activities.
• Share expertise with co-workers both formally and informally.
• Participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement activities as appropriate for the position.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior related experience in hospital, hospice house, nursing home, and/or general cleaning experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of housekeeping industry standards and regulations.
• Technical proficiencies in housekeeping functions.
• Skill in the use of and care for housekeeping equipment including, but not limited to, vacuum, dusters, chemical pumps, etc.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language conversationally.
• Intermittent Driver - Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per Company policy.
• Ability to travel to other locations.
• Ability to keep simple records and to follow simple step-by-step instructions.
• Ability working with detergents and other cleaning chemicals used for custodial work without adverse reactions.
• Constantly lift, pull, carry, and/or push objects weighing up to 55 pounds.
• Stand, kneel, walk, climb, crouch or bend for long periods of time.
• When assigned to the dietary role: Skill in the use of and care for dietary equipment including, but not limited to, convection oven, steam kettle, large mixer, robot coupe, blenders, dish machine, etc.
