Responsibilities
- Distribute laundered articles and linens
- Change beds
- Clean public restrooms and replenish supplies
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- Dust furniture and equipment
- Polish metalwork
- Wash walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
- Perform all laundry duties, including washing and drying resident laundry and textiles in provided appliances
- Fold and/or hang laundry appropriately
- Distribute laundered articles and linens
- Change bed linens
- Maintain resident laundry areas
- Wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested
- Keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition
- Disinfect and sanitize equipment and supplies
- Stock the cleaning cart with supplies
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the disposal area(s)
- Work with maintenance to ensure that the trash and dumpster areas are clean
- Request maintenance work orders for any maintenance repairs needed
- Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly
- Report potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance-related issues promptly to Supervisor
Requirements
- Successfully complete all Company specified training programs
- Able to operate cleaning equipment such as, iron, washer & dryer, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc.
- Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
- General knowledge of sanitation
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Basic computer skills
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
