Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels of Jackson is hiring a Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver to support elderly and home-care clients across communities such as Brandon, Flowood, Pearl, Jackson, Clinton, Canton, and surrounding areas. The role offers flexibility, growth opportunities, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of senior adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Perform light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage and support clients in meeting exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Help clients with shopping, putting away groceries, or shopping for them
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients based on their abilities
• Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, attending doctor visits, and taking walks
• Act promptly in medical emergencies, reporting health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion and willingness to provide meaningful companionship to vulnerable individuals
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
