Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels of Richardson is hiring a Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver to support clients throughout the North Texas area, including Richardson, Garland, Plano, Addison, Wylie, Rockwall, Mesquite, Forney, and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

• Perform light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Assist with shopping and putting away groceries or shop for clients
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients based on their abilities
• Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, attending medical appointments, and taking walks
• Act quickly in medical emergencies by reporting health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of professional caregiving experience
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals seeking meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
