Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels of Anniston is hiring a Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver to support clients throughout the local area, including Anniston, Oxford, Pell City, Sylacauga, Childersburg, Riverside, Talladega, Oneonta, Alpine, Lineville, Piedmont, Heflin, Glencoe, Wedowee, Jacksonville, and many others.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Perform light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Help clients with shopping, putting away groceries, or shopping for them
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients based on their abilities
• Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, attending doctor visits, and taking walks
• Act quickly in medical emergencies, reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion and willingness to provide meaningful companionship to vulnerable individuals
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
