Responsibilities
- Act as a patient ambassador for the hospital, interacting with patients while cleaning assigned areas using appropriate chemicals to clean and/or sanitize.
- Follow infection control procedures and utilize the duty list checklist.
- Perform floor care/maintenance when qualified, including burnishing, top scrub & recoat, strip and apply new finish, and bonneting.
- Maintain linen levels and ensure positive interactions between linen supply and receiving areas.
- Demonstrate knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Clean assigned areas per the 10 Step Cleaning method and any other specific requirements per the duty list checklist.
- Use appropriate chemicals, techniques, and infection control procedures while cleaning.
- Follow assigned daily duties listed on the duty list/daily checklist.
- Incorporate scripting/GREAT into daily tasks.
- Follow all EPIC policies and procedures per department standards.
- Report any maintenance or repairs needed immediately to management or identify on daily checklist.
- Perform related services such as changing curtains and stocking supplies.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean, orderly, and good operating condition.
- Manage inventory levels in each department by exchanging carts, ensuring par levels are correct, counting linen, and restocking as needed.
- Restock and deliver clean linen to units, clinics, and outsourced couriers.
- Unload delivery of clean linen onto shelves in the clean linen room and match counts to invoices.
- Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the inventory room at all times.
- Contact the direct supervisor for any concerns that arise while providing services on units.
- Present professionally and effectively with hospital staff, including nurses, nurse managers, clinicians, Central Supply, Materials Manager, and the Environmental Service Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Pay
Salary range: $16.98 – $25.47 per hour (based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation).
