Housekeeper (2nd Shift)

Summary of Position

The Housekeepers’ primary responsibilities are to assist the Lead Housekeeper with routine cleaning and custodial care for assigned facilities, projects, coverage of special events, manage assigned teams for summer blitz cleaning of facilities, operate light and heavy janitorial equipment, and perform special cleaning projects as assigned. Participate in training and development opportunities as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean entrances, lobbies, offices, lounges, classrooms, study rooms, restrooms, stairwells, common residential areas, floor care, shower rooms, dining rooms and auditoriums.
• Maintain specified cleaning responsibilities in assigned buildings.
• Make independent decisions to accomplish day-to-day custodial responsibilities.
• Operate light and heavy janitorial equipment.
• Perform special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Participate in training and development opportunities as required.
• Interact with various staff members and fellow team members; ability to remain flexible while working closely with other housekeeping staff, in addition to all Facility Managers and departments across campus to coordinate specific services as needed.
• Work overtime as directed by supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member on detailed day-to-day tasks.
• Required Skills:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Skills

• Knowledge in the operations of building services, related equipment and tasks as well as “best practices” for sanitizing and disinfecting cleaning processes.
