HOUSEKEEPER (23850)

About the Role

The Housekeeping Assistant performs scheduled housekeeping tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This includes cleaning furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware, as well as general maintenance tasks such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, and arranging furniture.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily in accordance with facility protocols.
• Uses proper chemicals in correct portions for cleaning tasks.
• Performs floor care, including dust mopping, wet mopping, or spot-mopping floors.
• Empties trash containers, replaces liners, and disposes of trash in designated receptacles.
• Vacuums carpets as directed by the Supervisor.
• Washes and dries windows using appropriate chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to the Supervisor or maintenance department.
• Requests necessary supplies and equipment from the Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards while adhering to safety rules.
• Reviews and complies with Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention.
• Attends weekly in-services and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Ensures patient/resident safety at all times.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful.
• Experience using floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
