Responsibilities

  • Arrange placement of patients being admitted or transferred in accordance with specific unit protocols, staff competency, patient needs, and staffing patterns.
  • Act as a liaison for Directors/Managers and facilitate optimal outcomes for issues that may arise on the unit.
  • Assist with oversight of Float Pool staff schedule to maintain balanced support for units and compliance with commitment.
  • Complete assessment of hospital staffing needs and staff according to acuity using department matrix guidelines.
  • Review contracted staff usage and compare to departmental position controls; manage and lead efforts to reduce contract staff use; report data through appropriate channels.
  • Round on all units routinely to evaluate patient/staff/physician needs and respond appropriately to requests.
  • Assist with and/or perform discharge process.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility.
  • Experience as a Charge RN (preferred).
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
  • Current California RN license.
  • Current BLS Certification (obtained through AHA).
  • Current ACLS Certification (obtained through AHA).
  • CPI Certification obtained within first 90 days of employment.
