About the role
The House Person, under the direction of the Banquet Manager, is responsible for making areas within the Casino complex and/or off-site venues suitable for a function or meeting as requested. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.
Responsibilities
- Assists in proper execution of BEO.
- Responsible for the proper placement of tables, chairs and linens.
- Sets up tables and places linens on table.
- Ensures areas are clean.
- Takes down tables and chairs and linens off tables.
- Sets up audio visual equipment.
- Maintains audio visual equipment in storage locations.
- Provides attentive, cheerful, courteous and professional service to all customers.
Additional responsibilities
- Complies with company and departmental policy and procedures.
- Attends meetings, seminars, classes and training exercises.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.

- Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, Board of Directors and outside vendors/service providers.
Physical requirements
- Position medium with lifting of 50 pounds maximum and frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Physical factors include constant standing, walking, pushing, pulling, use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision; frequent carrying/lifting, stooping, reaching, manual handling, typing and bending; occasional sitting, climbing, kneeling, crawling and occasional travel.
- Working conditions include constant exposure to air quality; frequent exposure to extreme heat/cold and dimly lit conditions; occasional exposure to wet/humidity and vibration.
- Potential hazards include constant exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, chemicals, computer use and equipment; occasional exposure to high exposed places, insecticides/pesticides.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous Houseman experience helpful.
- Certification/License: N/A.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent organization skills; organizing work, prioritizing tasks and managing time.
- Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisory personnel, coworkers and the general public.
- Must maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to work extended hours when needed.
- Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Native American preferred.
