About The Role
As a House Person in our Housekeeping department, you will play a vital support role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public and back-of-house areas throughout the property. Working closely with Room Attendants, Supervisors, and other team members, you will ensure hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and service areas are consistently tidy, stocked, and presentable. This hourly, full-time position requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction. You will be on your feet and active throughout your shift, helping to create a positive environment for guests and staff alike.
What You'll Do
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all public spaces, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and restrooms
- Support Room Attendants by delivering linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies to assigned floors and storage areas
- Collect, transport, and sort soiled linens and trash from guest floors, public areas, and housekeeping closets
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish surfaces in designated areas according to established standards
- Replenish supplies such as towels, tissues, soap, and other amenities in public restrooms and common areas
- Ensure housekeeping closets, carts, and storage rooms are clean, organized, and adequately stocked
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and communicate needs or issues to the appropriate team member or supervisor
- Assist with setup and breakdown of meeting rooms or special event spaces as needed, including moving furniture and equipment
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged equipment or furnishings to the appropriate department
- Follow all safety, security, and sanitation policies and procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning equipment
- Support deep-cleaning projects and seasonal tasks as assigned by Housekeeping leadership
- Collaborate effectively with the Housekeeping team and other departments to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or a similar cleaning role preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate clearly and courteously in English, both verbally and in writing
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and organization
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and carrying items (often up to 30–50 lbs)
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, or willingness to learn
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, checklists, and standard operating procedures
- Commitment to providing friendly, professional service to guests and colleagues
- Eligibility to work legally in the country where the position is located
