House Manager Live-In

About the role

The Family Living Director oversees one of our community-based residential homes, providing care and support to four adults with developmental disabilities. The position is a unique live-in position that generally works 50 hours per week, in a split shift, Monday – Friday (mornings and evenings).

Responsibilities

• Provide a home that is well-maintained and organized, reflecting the interests and personal tastes of the people living there.
• Assist in maintaining a family-style household, including cooking balanced meals according to their needs and preferences and maintaining house cleanliness.
• Directly supervise all Direct Support Professionals in the home.
• Participate in the hiring, training, and professional development of Direct Support Professionals working in the home.
• Manage house schedule to ensure proper coverage at all times.
• Manage house hours, budget, and overtime while still providing optimal care and support for the people in the home.
• Provide outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• A high school diploma or GED is required; a college degree is preferred.
• At least two years of experience working in the human services field with experience providing direct care services.
• At least one year of supervisory experience is required.
• Must display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities.
• Must be able to teach skills, provide support, and build on each individual’s strengths and capabilities.
