Job Summary Hourly Research Assistants The Research Assistant/Data Abstractionist is responsible for reviewing source documentation and abstracting study-related data from electronic health records and other approved sources into study databases and tracking systems. This position supports study data quality and completeness in accordance with study protocols, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements. This position is within the Division of Epidemiology and will provide essential support to the NIDA Clinical Trials Network, Greater Intermountain Node, which is housed within the Program for Addiction Research, Clinical Care, Knowledge, and Advocacy: https://medicine.utah.edu/internal-medicine/epidemiology/parcka Review electronic health records, study records, and other approved source documents to identify required study data elements.Accurately abstract and enter study-related data into electronic data capture (EDC) systems, databases, and tracking tools.Verify completeness, consistency, and accuracy of abstracted data.Assist with preparation and response to data queries from study investigators, monitors, or coordinating centers.Follow study-specific procedures, manuals of operations, and data management guidelines.Protect participant confidentiality and maintain compliance with HIPAA, institutional policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.Communicate regularly with study staff regarding data collection progress, missing information, and data quality concerns. Previous experience is not required. What matters most is a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail. Training will be provided, and we encourage applicants who are eager to grow and develop new skills to apply. Part-time position, up to 19 hours per week. This position is expected to conclude upon completion of the CTN-0121 study; however, the position may be extended if additional funding becomes available.
