Job Summary

Our research team is hiring part-time community-based research assistants to conduct direct observation data collection for the Building Healthy Families program. This is a part-time, hourly position requiring training and weekly attendance at program sessions for 5-10 hours per week, with a combination of daytime and evening hours.

Location

Hurricane, Utah and Price, Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly BHF sessions in your local community (in person), typically in the evening
  • Conduct direct observation using standardized tools and protocols
  • Record and submit data accurately and on time
  • Participate in paid virtual training (August 2026) and weekly check-ins via Zoom typically during the day
  • Communicate effectively with program staff and the research team
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow research ethics and safety protocols
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • ≤ 2 years in health, health education, nursing, or a related field
  • Comfortable using MS Office & Zoom
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and may be subject to a background check
  • Experience working with deadlines and following protocols without direct supervision
  • Additional skills that would be advantageous for the position include conducting health assessments (height and weight, health history questionnaires), demonstrating good time management skills, willingness to learn new techniques and procedures, and a strong work ethic
