Hotline Worker, Welcome Services (Summer 2025)
Responsibilities
Assist families with registration and related activities.
Answer inquiries, research issues and document complaints from parents, principals, school staff and the community.
Provide families with accurate information about registration / school choice and the assignment process.
Deliver superior customer service according to the Welcome Center standards.
Utilize Aspen, BPS email Google Docs, Excel, and other applications.
Other activities as assigned by supervisor, which may include registration of families in person
Requirements
Applicant must be a resident of the city of Boston
High school diploma
Type 40-50 words per minute
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and navigate multiple windows
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and other data analysis tools
Ability to analyze and communicate complex issues effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to interact with diverse populations
Professional self-starter, able to work independently
Ability to work outside the usual business hours on evenings, weekends, and as needed determined by the Director
Qualifications
Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment
Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with second language constituencies (Spanish , Cape Verdean, Portuguese, French, Arabic , Chinese, Somali, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole)
