About the Role

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. This role includes parking and retrieving guest vehicles promptly and safely, assisting guests with luggage (including delivery and pick-up during arrival and departure), and ensuring a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients. Acknowledges and greets guests within five feet with a professional and friendly attitude. Uses guest last names during interactions. (25%)
• Uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location. Practices proper Towne Park phone etiquette. Posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks. (10%)
• Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed. Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests. (20%)
• Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries. Provides information about facility amenities, meeting rooms, outlets, and local attractions. Delivers messages, items, and guest amenities as requested. Shuttles guests to approved locations. (10%)
• Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival. Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks prior to issuing keys. Completes and maintains all ticket information, including key tags, guest folios, vehicle location, damage surveys, and claim check receipts. Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed. (35%)

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work in (or within a commutable distance).
• One (1) month of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard English, simple instructions, and correspondence.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one or small group settings.
• Basic arithmetic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units of American money.
• Ability to understand 24-hour and military time systems, as well as rates applicable to time passed.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in parallel parking.

Pay

The hourly base pay range for this position is $16.80 per hour plus tips.

Schedule

This position requires PM shifts, with weekends required.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods, walk, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Lifting requirements: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
• The majority of work is performed outdoors for extended periods, including exposure to extreme heat and cold weather. Protection from weather conditions may be provided, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• Travel of up to 5% may be required.
