Summary

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. The role involves parking and retrieving guest vehicles, assisting with luggage, and handling various inquiries.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients.
  • Acknowledges and greets guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Uses guest last names during interactions.
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously.
  • Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed.
  • Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
  • Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries.
  • Provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms, and amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area.
  • Delivers messages, items, and/or guest amenities as requested.
  • Shuttles guests to appropriate places that are approved by the location.
  • Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival.
  • Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys.
  • Consistently completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey, and claim check receipt from all vehicles taken into the valet system.
  • Consistently completes location on all key tags after parking vehicle.
  • Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid driver's license for the state you are applying to work, or within a commutable distance from the state you are applying to work (as applicable)
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Ability to read and write standard English language
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; ability to perform these operations using units of American money
  • Understanding of 24 hour and military time systems
  • Understanding of rates applicable to time passed
  • Manual transmission operating ability highly desirable
  • Ability to perform parallel parking

Scope

  • Authority to Act: Fairly routine. Incumbent follows established practices and procedures. Duties are performed with specific directions given and work is checked or verified on a frequent basis. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment could affect the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
  • Budget Responsibility: The employee has control over resources available only.

Compensation

Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location. The hourly base pay range for this position is $16.80 per hour plus tips.

Schedule

The work schedule for this position is PM shifts - weekends required.

  • Physical Environment: The majority of work will be performed outdoors for extended periods of time including up to the entire duration of shift. Employees are subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold weather. Protection from weather conditions may be provided, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • Travel: Travel of up to 5% may be required.
