Why This Role Exists

We are building a curated hotel platform: a carefully selected collection of distinctive, high-quality properties that elevate the China travel experience for our international guests. • Deep China market knowledge and industry network
  • Exposure to the inbound / international travel segment
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
  • Excited to build something new from the ground up

The Opportunity

This is a build-from-scratch commercial leadership role. If You Succeed:

  • You'll build and lead your own team
  • You'll own a dedicated P&L for the hotel business line
  • You'll shape a new revenue channel for WildChina, from supply to pricing to distribution

We're looking for someone who wants to own and grow a business.

What You'll Own

Hotel Procurement & Contracting (Core Responsibility)

  • Lead end-to-end negotiations with premium, boutique, and destination hotels across China.
  • Secure annual preferred agreements with:
    • Competitive rates (net / wholesale / BAR-based) suited to the inbound market
    • Flexible cancellation and modification terms
    • Reliable inventory access (allotments / dynamic allocation)
    • Tangible guest benefits (upgrades, credits, late checkout, VIP recognition)
  • Build and maintain a high-quality hotel supply base across key destinations, from Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an to off-the-beaten-path gems.
  • Continuously evaluate hotel performance, and renegotiate or replace underperformers.

Own the Commercial Framework

  • Define pricing rules, inventory protocols, and yield strategies for all hotel products.
  • Establish standardised booking, confirmation, and settlement workflows across channels.
  • Work with finance to manage payment terms, deposits, and reconciliation.
  • Own hotel-segment revenue, margin, and cost control.

Enable the Online Booking Initiative

  • Partner with product and tech teams to translate contracted terms into a seamless online booking experience (starting with "request to book," moving toward instant confirmation).
  • Ensure hotel content is accurate, compelling, and commercially optimised for conversion.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Work with sales and service teams to ensure inventory supports client requests seamlessly.
  • Partner with marketing to feed hotel supply into content campaigns, Xiaohongshu, KOL collaborations, and co-marketing.
