Hotel Mechanical Engineer | Tarrytown House Estate | Tarrytown NY

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment with minimal downtime.
• Install and replace light fixtures and bulbs.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and check and repair equipment malfunctions.
• Ensure chemicals and hazardous materials are used and stored properly, and complete all required reporting accurately.
• Secure the building, including monitoring, activating, and resetting automatic security systems, repairing broken locks, and maintaining building keys.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year’s trade-related experience and/or training in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and building maintenance.
• Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to collaborate within a diverse team and work calmly under pressure.

Physical Demands

• Frequent movement, including standing, sitting, carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending, twisting, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to sit or stand for 8 hours at a time.
• Capability to work in hard-to-reach areas and occasionally ascend/descend a ladder for repairs.

Schedule

Must be able to accommodate varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
