Hotel Maintenance Engineer - Holiday Inn Express, Middletown, RI

About the role

A Full-Time Hotel Maintenance Engineer is needed to maintain the hotel's building, grounds, equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems. This position offers comprehensive benefits and a Monday–Friday schedule with weekend call-ins only for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Review maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders to prioritize and schedule work assignments.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning electrical/mechanical systems and equipment to your level of ability.
• Inspect property to identify potential and current needs.
• Plan and execute ongoing appropriate maintenance programs.
• Solicit bids from contractors, evaluate proposals, and ensure work is completed to specifications.
• Coordinate with local health, safety, fire, and building inspectors to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
• Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
• Maintain the building's exterior if not serviced by a contractor (e.g., lawn care, painting).

Requirements

• Knowledge of HVAC, troubleshooting, and servicing up to your ability.
• Skill in maintaining and repairing security hardware.
• Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions.
• Pool testing certification is a plus.
• Weekend availability for emergency situations.
• Basic computer skills to effectively use the tracking system.

Pay

$24 – $28 per hour. Earn up to $500 for referring someone after you join.

Schedule

Monday–Friday with weekend call-ins only for emergency situations.
