Hot Shot Driver

About the role
Performs safe operations of various truck/trailer combinations between company shops and customer/vendor facilities or work sites within the company’s geographic service area. Loads and delivers necessary equipment to and from job sites. Drives truck-mounted units to well sites delivering product or servicing products. Troubleshoots issues with work/field equipment and is responsible for the preventative maintenance of any vehicle used to deliver equipment.
Responsibilities
- Performs hot shot duties driving equipment and/or parts between KLX facilities and job sites.
- Performs a combination of shipping and receiving duties; loads and unloads trucks; uses computer system for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting; follows shipping practices and procedures, transportation routing, schedules, and requirements; receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment.
- Installs and disassembles company and/or competitor equipment in accordance with original manufacturer’s standards.
- Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment, including testing and diagnostics.
- Monitors, evaluates, and adjusts processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency in accordance with applicable safety guidelines and industry standards.
- Maintains communication with customers and site leaders; advises on repair/replacement options; acts as a liaison between sales, operations, and customers on product and installation issues.
- Inspects, rebuilds, operates, tests, and troubleshoots equipment; paints equipment; completes records and associated documentation.
- May operate heavy machinery if properly certified.
- Performs safety-affecting activities, including shipping, loading, and unloading duties, with full compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Verifies and documents identity and quantity of all equipment.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving history.
- Valid Tanker and Doubles/Triples Endorsements.
- Ability to communicate and interpret a variety of oral and written instructions.
- Must be local to the Oklahoma City, OK area.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant experience as a service technician in the oil and gas industry.
- Current relevant HSE certifications.

- Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 40 lbs: Occasionally.
- Climbing and working in awkward and cramped positions: Frequently.
- Lifts/carries up to 39 lbs occasionally.
- Pushing a maximum force of 63 ft./lbs.
- Pulling a maximum force of 98 ft./lbs.
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces.
- Exposure to inclement weather, bright lights, loud noise, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
