About the Role
As a Hot Shot Driver at Interstate Batteries, you will deliver batteries to dealers on request, assist with warehouse operations, and support Route Managers. This role focuses on timely and safe deliveries while maintaining professionalism and adherence to company policies.
Responsibilities
- Run Hot Shots and assigned routes on a timely basis as needed.
- Load and unload batteries.
- Perform general warehousing duties as assigned by management, including assisting customers.
- Deliver batteries to customers safely and professionally.
- Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies.
- Ensure batteries are charged, cleaned, dated, and stock is rewrapped after rotation.
- Accurately complete reports and claims.
- Interact professionally with team members, managers, and customers.
- Follow and fulfill all driver program requirements as specified by the manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Working knowledge of computers or the ability to learn applicable systems.
- Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools (tablets, scanners).
- Clean driving record and meet driver qualifications requirements.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift.
Work Environment
- Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk, hear, stand, and walk.
- Repetitive lifting; consistent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance, and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Exposure to road hazards when operating or riding in a vehicle.
- Exposure to battery warehouse conditions, including moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
