About the Role
As part of the 123 team and broader Tech24 network, the Hot/Cold Technician is responsible for driving a company vehicle to and from customer sites to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. To be successful, you should be able to work independently and solve problems quickly and efficiently. Strong technical skills, troubleshooting expertise, and exceptional customer service are essential.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment
- Inspect commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment and related components to ensure safe operation
- Communicate with customers and branch staff regarding repair status to maintain schedules and properly communicate delays
- Complete service tickets according to procedures
- Track truck stock to ensure needed parts are available on the vehicle
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and uniforms to Tech24 standards
- Set a positive example for less experienced or new technicians by being a company advocate
- Follow all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- 3–5 years of related experience
- Universal EPA certification preferred
- Ability to travel extensively within the region
- Mechanically inclined with a hunger to learn new techniques and approaches
- Superb customer service skills
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Standard computer skills
- Own industry-standard hand tools
- Ability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays for on-call rotation (frequency varies with department size)
Pay
The advertised pay range for this position is $30–$40 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced expertise in both commercial hot-side and cold-side equipment may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
