The Farmer's Daughter Restaurant at Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference seeks qualified individuals with an exemplary work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for providing superior customer service in an upscale hospitality environment. Applicants with experience in first-class hospitality organizations are strongly preferred.
About the Role
A Host ensures guests feel welcomed, cared for, and valued by creating a warm and inviting environment from the moment they enter the establishment. Responsibilities include providing menus, managing reservations, and answering phones.
Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in all training sessions and team meetings.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships while listening and responding appropriately.
- Greet guests warmly to make them feel welcome.
- Seat guests and provide menus, following the appropriate rotation.
- Answer the phone politely and assist callers, including answering questions about the establishment and making reservations.
- Manage and confirm all OpenTable reservations.
- Cater to guests’ requests and needs promptly and professionally to ensure superior customer service.
- Perform assigned side work and keep the host stand and lobby area clean.
- Follow instructions and adhere to all procedures and company policies while maintaining high standards of conduct.
- Notify and report any problems or concerns to management.
- Report to the Restaurant Manager.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old (work permit required under 18).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Previous hosting experience is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, food and beverage preparations, and etiquette.
- Mandatory compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, policies, and rules.
- Available to work weekends, day and evening shifts, and major holidays (Thanksgiving, Easter, & Mother’s Day).
- Regular and predictable attendance; punctuality in full uniform with a neat and professional appearance.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, carrying, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
Schedule
- Weekday Shifts (Monday to Friday): 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Weekend Shifts:
- Saturday: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week with open availability for weekday evenings and weekends.
