About the Role
The Greggory is a new restaurant opening in the Arboretum of South Barrington, reimagining American classics with warm, heartfelt hospitality. Led by seasoned restaurateurs Gregg Horan (Gibsons Restaurant Group) and Bill Veremis (Rosewood Steakhouse Group), and partner Executive Chef Jose Sosa (Gibsons Italia), The Greggory offers a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere centered around live-fire cooking in an open kitchen. The menu features prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, and homemade pastas, blending culinary traditions with unmatched warmth and personality.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant
- Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table
- Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area
- Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
- Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure even workload for wait staff
- Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties
Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8-hour shift)
- Food safety knowledge
- Ability to lift 20 lbs
- Speed and finesse are a must
- Meets all company standards
- Maintain a positive attitude with self, guests, and teammates
- Completes all ongoing certifications/validations
- Maintains a clean workspace
- Toast experience preferred
- 7Rooms experience preferred
- 1+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
