Host & Server Assistant Hybrid

Position Overview

The Host/Server Assistant at Cabot Citrus Farms is the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere from arrival to departure. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, communicating with the kitchen and waitstaff, and addressing guest inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive
• Manage reservations and walk-ins, seating guests promptly
• Answer the phone and respond to guest inquiries
• Communicate with the kitchen and waitstaff for smooth operations
• Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area
• Handle guest concerns or requests and address them professionally
• Ensure guests are comfortable while waiting for a table
• Uphold restaurant policies and guest safety
• Assist with pre-bussing and clearing plates between courses
• Reset tables promptly and to Grange Hall presentation standards
• Refill water and assist with general guest needs
• Assist bartenders with bar backing tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, and/or relevant experience
• Experience with information systems and inventory management
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
• Previous customer service or host experience advantageous
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism
• Basic knowledge of restaurant operations and etiquette
• Positive and approachable demeanor

Work Conditions

• Varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and wind
• Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required
• Ability to communicate verbally with staff and customers
• Long hours of movement, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, etc.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
