Company Delicato Family Vineyards Location Geyserville, CA Other Other Apply Work Location Geyserville Position Purpose The Host is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests, warmly welcoming guests to the restaurant at Francis Coppola Winery, managing reservations and incoming phone calls, and communicating all information effectively to entire Food and Beverage Team. Functional Responsibility Essential Duties Checks-in with the Manager/ Supervisor at the start of each shiftPrepares for the day to ensure Restaurant Operation is ready for the business levels of that day ten (10) minutes before openingEnsures the Front-of-House looks presentable to the guest and keeps the host stand clean, organized and stocked with menusAttends line ups and is aware of other promotions and events that are going on at the WineryWelcomes guests in a warm and friendly manner and thanks guests when they are departing while inviting them backResponds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient mannerOversees the seating plan and monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flowReports all issues to the Manager/SupervisorKnows what Rustic Parties are happening in the coming month and knows the required service for each eventCommunicates all essential operation information to service personnelSchedules phone and online reservationsAnswers phones within the first three (3) ringsReturns all messages and confirms upcoming reservationsBuilds relationships with the guests as they dineCommunicates all guest information to servers before the server greets them at the tableCommunicates with service staff and managers about guest needsTakes lead in any guest issues that may arise during shiftSets the example of excellence in standards to other staffDelivers beverage and food orders to guestsAssists in restaurant maintenance by keeping all areas clean and tidy, and ensures that the department areas are left clean and presentable at the end of each shiftPerforms opening and closing duties as needed, including completingpaperwork correctly after the end of every shift, and ensuringthat all tasks are carried out before the end of shiftHelps fellow team members and other departments wherever necessaryAssists servers with side work including, but not limited to, cleaning, stocking, polishing silverware, glassware, folding silverware, bussing, and resetting tablesMaintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day by clearing, collecting, and returning food and beverage items to proper areasInspects cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver before useClears tables and resets them neatly and according to specificationOther duties may be assigned Non-Essential Duties Other duties may be assigned Minimum Requirements Education and Experience High School diploma or GED equivalentMinimum 6 months Host experienceRestaurant service background and experience Certificates and Licenses CA Food Handlers CertificationTIPS Certification or certified within 90 days of employment Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Must be able to work weekends and holidaysFluent in EnglishExcellent communication skillsAbility to work in high paced work environmentAbility to multitaskTroubleshooting and prioritizing skillsAbility to operate Yelp Reservation system with confidence and manage restaurant flowAbility to check Tock Reservations Working Conditions General restaurant environmentRequired to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variationsWork in close quarters or confined spacesExposure to varying levels of dust, chemicals, fumes, gases, and noisy equipment Work Standards Acts in a manner reflective of the Company culture of High Moral Standards, Innovation and Continuous Evolution, Trust in Team, Continuous Improvement, and Sustainable RelationshipsCommunicates, interacts, and works effectively with others; receptive to feedback and coaching; voices concerns in a constructive mannerDemonstrates commitment to safety first; communicates safety concerns; promotes a safe work environment based on established safety standards and trainingFollows all Company policies and procedures Additional Comments Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
