Host/Hostess - Slack's Seafood and Steakhouse - Part-Time

Responsibilities

• Foster a fun environment.
• Be a gracious host to all guests and co-workers.
• Promote a positive influence in the community and participate in company-sponsored events.
• Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff.
• Personalize service and use guests’ names during interactions.
• Greet guests entering the restaurant.
• Seat guests according to specified rotation requirements.
• Maintain proper seating and reservation documentation.
• Monitor the restaurant for table availability.
• Keep designated working area clean and organized; wipe and assist in maintaining cleanliness of the dining room, including cashiering area, as necessary or required.
• Assist wait staff and bus persons in their duties (e.g., refilling water glasses and coffee cups, helping pre-bus and bus tables, attending to guest needs).
• Operate a cash register/POS system, ringing proper amounts into the register and giving correct change; account for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedures; maintain integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
• Complete all assigned closing duties at the end of the shift.
• Compete any reasonably requested job duties or requests made by managers or management personnel.
• Know and promote current casino events and programs and provide guests with directions to all casino areas.
• Thank customers, invite them back, wish them luck, and make it easy for them to return to play.

Requirements

• Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with guests.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Read, write legibly, understand, and speak English.
• Excellent customer service/communication skills.
• Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Able to meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
• Able to respond to visual and oral cues.
• Able to work in constricting areas.
• Able to tolerate noise and bright lights.
• Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environments.
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
