Employment Type: PRN (Part time) | Shift: Rotating – mixed/varied with every other weekend rotation
About the Role
The Host/Hostess provides personalized meal service to hospital patients for the hospital’s Food & Nutrition Patients Department.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with meal selection, serve meals to patients, and clear soiled and used trays from patients.
- Stock nursing unit pantries with supplies, transport meal carts to and from patient floors, and break down meal carts.
- Perform various side work duties assigned by management during shifts.
- Serve cafeteria customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Stock various areas in the cafeteria and maintain general sanitation.
- Assist other cafeteria and patient service staff as needed.
- Maintain records of safe food temperatures and refrigeration temperatures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior healthcare experience a plus.
- Able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Customer service oriented.
- Effectively communicates with customers, clients, and management.
- Ability to do basic math.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and alone.
- Ability to interact with kitchen and supervisory staff.
