Host/Hostess - Part Time

About the role

Circa 1886 is looking for a host/hostess. The ideal candidate must be professional, friendly, and well spoken, and be committed to maintaining our standard of excellence.

Schedule

• Evening dinner hours approximately 4 p.m.–10 p.m.
• Flexible availability for 3‑4 shifts per week, including weekends and occasional holidays.
• Closed Sunday evenings, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests when they enter the restaurant.
• Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas.
• Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations and respond to customer inquiries about the restaurant and menu.
• Engage with guests to ensure they are happy with food and service.
• Help with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• Able to provide top notch customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills

Fine dining restaurant experience a plus but not required.
