Host/Hostess - Full Time
Full time (40 hours per week), every other weekend, every other holiday. Weekend shifts are 6am-2:30pm; weekday shifts are 7am-3:30pm. Some additional flexibility needed to cover when others are off.
About the role
To provide a high quality dining experience to patients which meets their nutritional requirements and service expectations. The Host/Hostess acts as the liaison between patients and food service and nutrition through daily patient interactions and coordinating patient nutritional needs between nursing units and dieticians, as well as kitchen staff. The Host/Hostess assists patients with room service when appropriate and delivers meal trays to assigned patients.
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between patients, food service, and nutrition staff
- Coordinate patient nutritional needs between nursing units and dieticians
- Assist patients with room service as needed
- Deliver meal trays to assigned patients
- Provide friendly, cheerful customer service reflecting the organization’s culture of healing and service excellence
- Handle stressful situations and problem-solve to meet customers' needs
Requirements
- Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly and proficiently
- 1-3 years experience in a customer service position
- 1-3 years experience in a food service establishment
- Working knowledge of a PC/Microsoft Windows
- Typing skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of menus, food, and diets
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently to complete tasks
- Participates in orientation and continuing education
- Updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise
Qualifications
GED/High School Diploma preferred.

Work Environment

Pay
$16.20 - $23.50 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary based on location.
