JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must have the ability to read, write, take verbal instruction and perform basic arithmetic.
- One year experience in a customer service/food position similar to SBMC preferred.

- Normal hospital environment. Occasional exposure to heat, steam and cold.
- Normal/corrected eyesight. Hearing within normal range.
- Distinguishes tastes and smells, distinguishes temperature by touch.
- Uses food service equipment, telephone.
- Lifts and carries up to 50lbs. Pushes/pulls up to 100lbs.
- Frequent standing and walking.
JOB SUMMARY
- Delivers meals to patients and guests, following specific guidelines.
- Demonstrates a positive service attitude and holds oneself accountable for meeting that standard.
- Documents the time and location of tray deliveries using Stella Kitchen Logistics.
- Takes meal orders using the iPad and Stella Software.
- Picks up soiled trays from the patient rooms and dirty utility areas after meal service, and assists where needed in the room service operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned, and relieves the Call Center staff and on his/her breaks as needed.
- Aids in restocking the entire service line (along with the starter and expeditor) as assigned.
- Covers some duties in the dish room.
- Serves as the key personal contact person between the NS department and the patient and follows the scripting protocols as instructed.
- Required to serve as expeditor and call center staff, demonstrating familiarity with food operations and working knowledge of patient diets.
- Delivers trays to patients “round robin,” meaning each Host/hostess delivers any available cart to any floor.
- Collects dirty trays by assigned areas, by zone.
- Meets with “Room Service Assist” patients as assigned.
