About the role

SSP America operates several restaurants throughout Tampa International Airport in Tampa, FL, including Hard Rock Cafe, Ducky's, Bella’s Café, Buddy Brew, Liquid Provisions, Square 1, Yogurtology, Bavarro’s, Café con Leche, Goody Goody, Louis Pappas, and Ulele.

The Host/Hostess position is often the first point of contact for guests entering our restaurants. Hosts/Hostesses create a welcoming atmosphere, answer questions about the restaurant and airport, and ensure guests feel at home from the moment they arrive.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests in a courteous and professional manner and escort them to their table
• Seat guests and maintain organization and flow in the restaurant (rotating tables assigned by server)
• Assist guests with children and special needs, as required
• Present menus, answer questions, and offer suggestions regarding food and service
• Inform servers and management of special needs and/or potential problems with guests
• Clear and reset counters or tables at the conclusion of each course
• Ensure complete guest satisfaction
• Thank guests for their patronage upon exiting the restaurant
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience working in retail or food service environment
• High school diploma preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with guests and take orders
• Experience in dealing with problems involving customer service
