As a Host/Hostess, you will safely and efficiently provide excellent customer service, ensuring our guests feel valued and have a memorable dining experience. Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, acknowledge them by name if possible, and thank them for choosing our restaurant.
- Manage the flow of guests by taking names, handling reservations, and estimating wait times. Communicate delays or special requests to guests with courtesy and professionalism.
- Escort guests to their tables, provide menus, and assist with seating arrangements to accommodate parties of varying sizes and preferences.
- Answer phone calls and inquiries from guests regarding reservations, availability, and dining options. Assist with booking and confirming reservations as needed.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date reservation book or system. Record guest preferences and special requests, and communicate relevant information to the service and kitchen staff.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service teams to ensure timely seating and efficient turnover of tables while maintaining a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
- Provide information about the restaurant, including menus, specials, promotions, and amenities. Answer questions about ingredients, dietary restrictions, and meal preparation methods.
- Anticipate guests' needs and preferences, providing proactive assistance and recommendations to enhance their dining experience.
- Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and courteously. Escalate unresolved issues to the management team for resolution.
- Work collaboratively with the service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Assist with bussing tables, refilling water glasses, and other tasks as needed.
Skills
- Provide high-level customer service and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Follow instructions, learn quickly, and pay attention to detail.
- Maintain composure when working under pressure and demonstrate strong phone skills.
Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience is preferred.
- High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience preferred, but not required.
