About the role

The Host/Hostess reports to the FOH Manager. Nick's Fish House is a Baltimore favorite, known for its fresh seafood, regional specialties, and famous steamed crabs. Located on the waterfront, the restaurant offers a lively atmosphere where guests can enjoy a variety of dishes and drinks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and set a positive tone.
• Manage the waitlist and reservations efficiently.
• Seat guests according to table availability and service flow.
• Assist with food running, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Answer phone calls and provide information about the restaurant and wait times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a stress-free and engaging work environment.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor.

What We're Looking For

• A friendly, welcoming personality with strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage and maintain reservations on a digital platform.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to assist in various FOH tasks as needed.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods (6-10 hours per shift).
• Navigate a busy dining area while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.
• Lift and carry small trays, menus, and other materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
• Perform repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, and handling seating charts or reservation systems.
• Engage with guests and team members in a lively, high-energy atmosphere.

Compensation

This position starts at $15.00 per hour.
