About the Role

As a Host/Hostess, you will welcome members and escort them to their seats in a courteous and friendly manner, contributing to the Club’s effort to deliver an outstanding member experience. This is an hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage and Food & Beverage Managers.

Responsibilities

• Provide arriving members with a prompt, gracious greeting and seat them comfortably with menus.
• Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow.
• Work with management and team members to ensure top-quality service delivery to members and guests.
• Assist dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, replenishing water, and serving beverages.
• Help with side work, including cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, and other tasks as needed.
• Place and manage reservations.
• Ensure knowledge of the menu and specials.
• Respond to member inquiries in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Previous experience in a country club environment preferred.
• Food and Beverage knowledge preferred.
• Must be upbeat, outgoing, and positive.
• Ability to articulate thoughts and actively listen to communicate effectively with co-workers, members, and guests.
• Ability to use empathy to understand members, guests, and coworkers’ feelings or mood and respond appropriately.
• Demonstrated proactive hospitality by taking the initiative to approach members, guests, and coworkers with a positive and upbeat attitude.
• Demonstrated track record of responsibility through taking ownership of issues and following through.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• This position includes long periods of balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in hot conditions for long periods of time.
• Must be physically able to perform assigned work as outlined.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
