Host/Hostess

Circa 1886 is seeking a host/hostess for evening dinner shifts, approximately 4 p.m.–10 p.m. The role requires flexible availability for 3–4 shifts per week, including weekends and occasional holidays. The restaurant is closed Sunday evenings, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests when they enter the restaurant.
• Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas.
• Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and respond to customer inquiries about the restaurant and menu.
• Engage with guests to ensure they are happy with food and service.
• Help with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• Able to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
• Fine dining restaurant experience a plus but not required.
• Flexible availability to work 3–4 evenings per week, including weekends, from approximately 4 p.m.–10 p.m.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
