Host/Hostess -Asian Cuisine
About the role
We provide cashiering services for guests of the restaurant. This includes receiving payments, computing bills, making change, issuing receipts, coordinating with dining room staff, ensuring cleanliness, and addressing guest inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Receive cash or credit card from guests in payment for goods and services.
- Compute bill on POS System or adding machine, make change, and issue receipt.
- Cooking room personnel to provide courteous and prompt service to guests.
- Coordinate activities to ensure smooth operation of the Restaurant.
- Interact with guests in difficult situations.
- Deliver food and beverages according to guest requests.
- Ensure all tables are clean and properly set.
- Stock and prepare areas for guest service needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Dining Room and all areas before, during, and after service.
- Adhere to department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
- Initiate a positive guest experience by providing a welcome and greeting, making eye contact, describing food offerings, smiling, and bidding a farewell and good luck.
- Answer any guest-related questions in accordance with company standards.
- Answer the telephone in a professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to read and understand simple instructions, perform basic arithmetic, and communicate effectively.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have the ability to read and understand a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers, print and speak simple sentences, add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, and perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Skills
Knowledge of the menu items and their values, ability to interact professionally with guests, and the ability to follow department and property policies and procedures.

Pay
Starting pay is $10.65 an hour, based on experience.
