Job Description

Employee greets guests for seating. Ensure guests feel welcome. Employee must be pleasant, professional, and have an outgoing personality. Familiarity with and/or commitment to working in the food service area. The ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision. A sense of urgency during busy hours Dedication to understanding and exceeding customer expectations/needs. Recognition that service is a demonstrated attitude and a state of mind, not a task or step.

Requirements

• To deliver World Class Service to each Silver Gulch guest
• Follows the Silver Gulch Front of House Dress Code
• Greet and welcome guests as they enter the restaurant with a smile
• Seat guests according to the seating chart, rotating through Silver Gulch servers
• Estimate wait times during busy hours, and coordinate seating in conjunction with the manager on duty
• Inform the appropriate server that he or she has a new table
• Keep the host stand and the surrounding area free of dust particles, clean, and sanitary
• Absorb the Silver Gulch Service Expectations
• Assist in the cleaning of the dining room at the end of each night
• This includes wiping tables, sweeping all debris from the floor, and mopping the floor with hot soapy water
• Check out with the manager on duty before leaving each night
• Other related duties may also be assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum age required (18 years)
• The ability to effectively accomplish service objectives with a sense of urgency
• The ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision or support
• Must be able to effectively organize people and service activities
• Must be able to balance multiple activities with an attention to detail
• Dedication to understanding and exceeding customer expectations
• High school graduation (or equivalent) and at least two years of directly related food preparation experience
• Candidates must have the ability to handle multiple tasks occurring at the same time
• A current “Food Handler’s Card”
• Reliable transportation
• Well groomed appearance and good hygiene
• Reliable transporation

Skills

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions for host software, and procedures manuals
• Write short correspondence; messages
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
• Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, or volume
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form
• Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Delegate responsibilities as well as the ability to work effectively with supervisors and co-workers
