Host - Eataly Downtown

About the role

A Host is the first and last point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting, seating, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. This role manages seating, reservations, and guest flow in Eataly’s restaurants while supporting service staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general functioning of the dining room during meal service, relaying information to managers and service personnel
• Maintain an accurate, fair, and up-to-date waitlist and seating chart using a computerized system
• Manage reservations in restaurants that allow them
• Balance guest flow among service stations, accommodating requests for specific tables or servers when possible
• Inform guests when tables are ready, escort them to their table, provide menus, and introduce the server
• Assist servers and bus persons as needed to maintain service efficiency
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in a high-volume restaurant
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting

Pay

The base pay for this position is $17 per hour.
