Description Why This Role Matters The Host/Cashier is the first point of contact for every guest and plays a key role in delivering the warm, welcoming experience Trapper's Sushi is known for. This role is responsible for greeting guests, managing the flow of the dining room, handling payments, and maintaining an organized and efficient front-of-house environment. What You'll Do Greet all guests with warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to create a memorable experienceManage the waitlist, seating rotation, and table availability to ensure smooth service flowAnswer phones promptly and handle takeout orders with accuracy and attention to detailProcess payments, handle cash/card transactions, and follow all cash-handling proceduresMaintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, menus, and restrooms as assignedCommunicate clearly with servers, managers, and kitchen staff regarding seating, large parties, and special requestsMonitor lobby conditions and guest needs, including ADA access and accommodationsSupport to-go order packaging and accuracy when volume requiresFollow all company safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards, including proper chemical handling and PPE use when cleaningDemonstrate teamwork, integrity, and respect while upholding a positive and inclusive work environment What's In It For You Competitive pay ($15.15/hr. + tips)Medical insurance – 80% employer paid after 60 days (with qualifying hours)401(k) with company match (eligible after 1 year of service)Voluntary dental and vision coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid sick leave (per WA state/local laws)Employee meal discountsOpportunities for advancement within a growing restaurant groupSupportive, team-oriented culture Requirements What You Bring to the Table Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred but not requiredStrong verbal communication skills and ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional mannerAbility to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environmentAttention to detail when entering orders, quoting wait times, or processing paymentsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsMust obtain a valid Food Handler's Permit/State Food Worker Card prior to the first day of work (per state law) Physical Demands & Work Environment Standing for long periods of timeFrequent walking, bending, and reachingLifting up to 25 lbs.
