Job Summary

Guides guests to appropriate table as directed by the maître d’. Interacts with the restaurant guests, fellow employees, and supervisors in a polite, courteous and hospitable manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Company Employee Handbook.
• Anticipate and accommodate needs of the guest.
• Maintain the general cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance area.
• Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
• Actively take and process reservations for guests.
• Assist with incoming calls and answer questions from guests.
• Check guests’ coats and other belongings (where applicable).
• Assist with setting up front desk area, perform side‑work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including ensuring all appropriate menus are printed and ready for service.
• Make sure all menu books are organized with current menus; collect menus throughout venue during shift.
• Perform opening side‑work as prescribed.
• Perform closing side‑work as prescribed.
• Report all breakage or damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
• Attend and participate in daily pre‑service meetings.
• Participate in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
• Learn by listening, observing other team members and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
• Portray a positive and professional attitude.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Company, its partners and supporting hotel environments.
• Work as part of a team and provide help and support to all fellow team members.

Requirements

• Completion of company in‑venue host training.
• Previous hospitality experience.
• Previous host experience.
• Experience in a high‑volume restaurant, nightclub, or lounge.
• Ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods; lift up to 50 lb.
• Job duties may require repetitive motion and exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
• Ability to work and remain focused in a fast‑paced and ever‑changing environment.

Schedule

Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
